I bought a mora ( don't know which one ) at a Carboot on Sunday for £5 its a bit marked and I would like to know the best way to get the marks out. Here are some pictures of the knife:

Looks like fine sandpaper would be your only option.......

I may be a bit off, but those marks look more like inclusions or blistering from heat treating than wear or damage marks. I'd give it a quick once-over with medium-fine wet sandpaper, then give it a patina.

That's about what I thought too, I get similar at times from HT, but they look nice so I don't mind them at all.

Not only that but they seem to have 'eaten' into the metal? The only way to remove them would be to remove the metal around them which seems a bit drastic to me. Why not live with them as they won't affect the way the knife cuts?

Nice looking wood whitler Ian. I wouldn't worry too much about the pitting either. Just a good rub with Autosol and a Scotchbrite pad and the blade will gleam and you won't notice them as much.

Thanks for the replies. I am not that bothered about the marks as the knife is very sharp, I was just wondering if they could be removed, but its seems not... The guy who owned it carves walking stick heads. Not a bad buy for a £5 I thought..
