Top Ten Books to have on your bookshelf, or even in your pack?

I love hearing everyones opinions on things like this, which is probably why I always ask these sort of poll questions.

O.k. What would be your top ten Bushcraft/Wilderness/Survival books to have or top ten favourite reads.

Hi Mike,

I think the only books I have on your list are the Collins Books on Trees and Birds!!

I would suggest adding:
John Seymour;s great book on self sufficiency
Song of the Paddle by Bill Mason
Encyclopedia of Fungi by Michael Jordan
and Grandmother's Secrets which I plugged in another thread.

and a good yarn about an explorer's journey. I liked 'The Caliban Shore' about shipwrecked sailors in southern Africa but it not a bushcraft book per se.

I've just finished a book called 'When all hell breaks loose' by Cody Lundin. Its basically an urban survival guide for an end of the world type scenario.

Has lots of info that could be applied to any type of survival situation, was also fun to read!

I also have another of Cody's book his 96.8 degrees (how to keep your arse alive) it is another interesting read. I like his stuff especially his tv spot with Dave Canterbury called Dual Survival it is on Discovery Channel and can be found on the net too.

I'm reading 96.8 degrees at the moment, I wrote to Cody after I read 'when all hell breaks loose', he seems like a really nice guy
