Working in the outdoors.

Hi guys, I have just been informed I need to find somewhere for work experience before the end of this month (I live in Cornwall) and I was wondering if you knew anywhere I could go and do work experience for a week, or two. Doing like outdoor's type stuff. :)

hi kieran :),do you have btcv (british trust of conservation volunteers,in youre area ive done some work for them and really enjoyed it,worked in forests, on marshbeds on the river teign,when i was off sick a few years back just to fill the boredom i was going through.might be worth chatting to them m8:)

shame you dont live in the torbay area,because i know were you can be guranteed some work experiance a place called lupton house,its a grade 2 listed manor house (haunted as well :)),but to cut along a long story short its in acres of woodland with lots of work needed doing to it because it fell into disreapear some years ago and its been taken over by a trust, who have opened it to joe public to use and enjoy and even work there,ive done some remeidial work for them in the celars and some of the old dorms etc.the trustee janet is a very nice woman :).its all on the internet

What outdoors type stuff Kieran? Road sweeping is outdoors, as is delivering the post. If you want bushcraft/survival type work, you could try Spanner Manley at Footsteps of Discovery? They're at Grampound Road. If you check out their website there are contact details on there. Tell him you know me, I'm not sure it'll help much but he's a great bloke and you'll learn tons from him and his partner Mark.

NT are all over the shop in Cornwall, could be a winner.
If not, maybe the Environment Agency or one of the many Adventure activities companies down here, a quick email to a few wouldnt do any harm.

Hope you find a good one, I did mine in a sports centre, thinking it was gonna be ok... Gits had me scrubbing the black marks off the squash court walls for two weeks!!
