I just took delivery of a new PCP air rifle yesterday. It does not have a moderater on it. I was quite surprised at how "noisy" it is. Previous air rifles like my Webley Mk 3 are not very noisy at all but the new PCP seems almost as loud as a .22 sub-sonic.
I don't want to spend the sort of money that I have spent on the cans for my .243 or 7.62s :D
So any reccomendations for an affordable "silencer", just something to take the crack off would be good.

what rifle have you got mate? if it comes with a grub screw slip on type barrel end then an air arms silencer should do the trick. if its screw on, a hogan decimator or weirhauch silencer will reduce the crack to a low 'thwuck'

I think that I'll probably use a Parker Hale. I've used them before and they are very affordable. The Weirauch is an excellent model but double the price IIRC
