Hockey Stick knife handle?

Has anyone here ever tried making a knife handle out of an old wooden hockey stick?

I like the idea. What's a stick usually made of? Is it solid hardwood like hickory or maple, or is it laminated?

Maybe I have a use now for that old baseball bat that's been gathering dust in the back of my garage...

They were traditionally made out of hardwoods, but more recently have been made out of laminated plywood. It would also be an interesting project to try with a baseball bat!

Hi 11211,you guys over the pound must have biger hands than us hear in the UK,a knife handal made out of a hockey stick or baseball bat would be a bit to long for our hands.Would you make it full or hidden tang.LoL..........atb............dont get eaten by the bears...........TONY
