I got no idea mate. Do you mean the woods just west of Caldicot? They are the only ones I can see on Google maps. Maybe PaulStandley would know, he's from around that area.

I used to spend many (drunken)weekends in Hill end campsite at the end of the Gower until it went totally commercial. They used to charge £1 per night each and a guy we nicknamed Cochese used to walk round collecting the money every morning. I've been kicked awake many times by him. But it's all commercial now. £25 per night for tent and 2 adults plus cost for car etc. Not many surfers there now.

Beautiful photography, thanks for sharing. That's an interesting building halfway through! :)

Thanks Ash. Not sure what the building is for, there's no mention of it on the website the last time I looked. Not even sure if the public are allowed to light a fire inside, though there has been a fire in there.

Coming west over the old (first) Severn crossing you can see Wentwood Forest from the bridge and that stretch of the M4 which is a very large area of woodland up on the hills. Lovely place.

Looked like a great weekend,
Like the 'freeze action' shots. With my HTC I have to hit the shutter button 3 seconds in advance to stand a chance of getting close to any freeze action snaps...!

Sorry but i don't know what a HTC is. And thanks. Those were taken at ISO 200 f2.8 1/1250th second. The night shots were ISO 200 f5.6 30 seconds. The one of my son Scott cooking toast was ISO 200 f11 3 seconds and flash set to 1 stop under exposed.

Setups?
Using what came with them.. a VERY SHORT tree hugger and the attached rope tied in the way recommended in the Hennessy videos. Will replace this method with whooppie slings soon.

Had to google map that one...good looking hammock setup...and it looks like nice mild weather for it. Do you get much snow there?

Snow????? I wish. People round here call quarter of an inch of snow 6 inches and even with the quarter inch everything stops.
I drive a taxi for a living and i'm picking people up now who are saying 'this time last year were were snowed in for a week, couldn't get out of the house'. Funny that, as I drove 13 miles to work and worked EVERY night these people were supposedly snowed in by the light dusting that made the roads LOOK white.
In answer to your question.. Yes we get snow, but not much. The last time I remember real snow was in 1982 when we had about 4 foot (real 4 foot not exaggerated).
