...well I got Ray Mears Outdoor Survival Handbook through the post and a little note, which I hope The Royal Mail have done a sterling job in delivering my Mora 510 and British Army Knife.

I will photograph all and post them up later....I'm like a kiddie on christmas morning!

One of the most pivotal books I read as a youngster and responsible for me getting interested in Bushcraft - an and absolute favourite of mine.

Quick update - the army knife is nice and sharp strainght out of the packet but the mora isn't much more than a butter knife at this point....knfe sharpening skills on my agenda I think!

I've only had mine for a few hours, so I think the 20 year recommendation bares well!

510 rules! I use one and I'm very happy with it. Odd that yours needs sharpening though, mine was shaving sharp from the go. It's only been sharpened once, I Now only ever strop it to get the edge back. A nice comfortable light knife, at a great price too. Hope you get everything you need out of it :D

All the best

Well I am a newbie, but with my very noddy test of gently drawing them across my thumbnail, the army knife marked it but the mora barely marked it at all?! To be honest, a means of sharpening the tools is on my purcasing list anyway.

Thanks for the well wishes Phil

Great start, next your going to have to add Mors Kachanski's bushcraft to your reading list and then a gb wildlife hatchet.... zebra billy can, hobo stove to suit and carve a wooden spoon with your mora for your eating tool! Your in a good place to start to kit up, would have saved me years and dollars having an extended circle of friends like this when I was getting going in bushcraft!

Congratulations! This book is a great read. Bushcraft buying is a bit like eating pringles.
