Hiya,
My name is Anthony and I live in SW Cornwall. Im fairly new to air rifle hunthing and I now have nowhere to shoot (Due to a family fall out!) Im desperate to bag a few bunnies for the pot (and bunny burgers......yum yum!) Does anyone know of any sympathetic farmers/landowners in the SW area of cornwall? Idealy within a 10 mile radius of Helston?
Cheers:)
Anthony.

just knock on farm doors, thats what i did, rabbits are pests to farmers so 9 times outa ten they will let you use their fields, aslong as keep to the arrangement that you both settled on,closing gates not trampling over his crops, also offer some of youre kill to him or ask if he needs anyhelp on one of youre days off sacrifice a few hours graft to keep sweet .good luck m8

Try getting hold of Mark Rowe of Rowe Farms LTD, Degibna farm Helston TR12 7PR. Hes got most of the land around Helston and surrounding area. I was going to write to him myself but i have two farms in Porthleven/Helston so thats enougth land for me. Get Insurance that helps and personnally i find writing a letter as first approach works best.

Not a great deal of rabbits on either of my farms, mixy hit them hard a few years ago and almost wiped them out. they are slowly making a comeback and thank god no sign of mixy in any of this years ones so far (fingers crossed). I only shoot 1 or 2 per trip and never shoot them during the breeding season. a couple more years and hopefully numbers will be back to a good level. I use spring rifles either a HW95 in .177 or a HW97K in .22 i love them both :)

You can not go far wrong with the Weirauch's mentioned in this post. I bought a HW 97K brand new out of the box it was doing 19ft/lbs when tested. This unfortunately brought it under the scope (excuse the pun) of an FAC as a class 1 firearm. So i reluctantly had it powered down to legal limit. It would roll bunnies stone dead when you hit them with it. The only way the cheaper chinese guns roll a bunny is when they roll over laughing when your pellet hits them. But like anything else its also a case of personal preference, if a gun shoots well and you are comfortable with it then thats the gun for you. Mac :o
