I am spending more and more time outside and away from society. I would love to meet people who are into survival and foraging.
I want to organise a Vision Quest. I am a shaman and Medicine woman, studied with indigenous people, in the jungle ( Amazon) south america, many places, many teachers. Many interesting and powerful healing ways, and of working with energies and Spirit.
If theres interest, i hope people let me know!
I have a wolf hybrid, so whatever i do have to have mutual respect with dogs, others tend not to like her, shes well behaved and i have strict rules around her behaviour, socialistion is great as long as theyre friendly and non aggressive/dominant/territorial
Will hopefully be travelling around UK, camping, meeting people and going to Sacred places to work with the energies there. I would love travel companions, if anyone is interested.
I am on a mild chemo at the moment until November so im trying to take it easy, but that dosent really work, Nature makes me well! however long journeys on hold, unless i get help driving.

A big hello from oop north too. :welcome:

Not only do I share your passion for dogs, (have 2 working buddies a collie and a GSD) but like getting out and about foraging/survival/wild living - interested in learning more about vision quests - sounds intriguing

Vision quests are deep powerful work about finding the self and answers to the questions within. I am going to adapt it to be suitable for here and it would be at least 3/4 days and often alone. ( i have to make sure people can handle what comes up for them) so i would be checking in on people and where theyre at if they wanted. I would like to work with some plant spirits as well and maybe some animal ones... You have the connection to the dogs, so you can talk to them:)
Really need to get Maia out more with other dogs, she loves Shepards, but she plays hard...ouch! LOL:)
Where are you based?

Shes like Dick Emery, oo you are awful but i like you and thwack with the bag:) ( am i showing my age here, im not sure who remembers thatLOL)
Thanks Ben! Maia will like you, she reads energy too.

Peak District /West Yorkshire Border.

Unfortunately my GSD doesn't do strangers,:o she is quite dominant and protective, good job really its her job.
My collie on the other hand is a sweetie and loves people - good job really as its his Job !!:happy-clapping:

I have worked with dogs most of my adult life in one way or another. I think I actually prefer them to humans. They dont lie, tell tales and their love and respect for you is unconditional.

:off-topic:
I went to Coombe Martin Wildlife park last year and had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours in the company of Shaun Ellis and his 'family' - wolves are ace and watching the complicated social structure helped me get an insight into the behavoir of our 'domestic' friends.

I know shaun, maia was trained according to him and my own experience:) She has no seperation anxiety whats so ever. ( she did poke 4 holes in my gum shield the other day, not chewed, or destroyed, just 4 pokey wolfy teeth hole marks:) but she was on her own as i was at hospital)I have worked with dogs too but went off to the jungle for a while and couldnt get back in to it. I prefer to heal now.
I dont do people so well anymore, i talk to animals and i prefer their honesty, loyalness and truth. I live with Maia as a pack we rarely are apart. Its amazing the way we communicate, my daughter came to stay recently and we had a row, Maia came between us both and was very submissive trying to lick scarletts mouth ( i have seen Shaun do this when the alpha is having a fight with another pack member, he got between and stopped it)
The message from dog/wolf is unconditional love and for that i am very grateful to have this power animal by my side. Power animal is an animal spirit you can call on in this life, they come to work with you and help and guide.
Peak district looks good up there, not so far, about two hours, im looking at lots of exploring soon:)

Hello again Tess, very interested in joining you for a quest some time. If you ever get chance, try visiting Dartmoor, grid ref SX 666-666. There you will find the remains of keble Martins chapel. A tiny stone construction build by three sons of the Rev. Martin of Dartington. might be of interest to you.

Hi Chris
Thanks, Maia is a stunning animal, mind you she dosent like people coming up and shoving hands in her face, shes much happier when she says hello in her time. Not a people lover...
Hmm wonder where that comes from! LOL
Where are you in Lincolnshire?
Tess
Vision Quests are a time in Nature, spent mostly alone where you find your answers inside, you face your dragons as some say, boredom, lonlieness, sadness whatever comes up and you stay focusing on the elements, the nature spirits, the land, the noises, the nothingness..... and see what comes through. When you are clear from blockages, the channels are open to recieve all sorts:) Mostly we dont allow this being full of stuff, whether its emotional, stress, business, whatever, we create blockages, when we get rid of them, life is so much simpler, happier and liberating. The best thing to do is look up vision quest and see what resonates with you. I am going to adapt things so its right for people here.

Hello, good to hear of a fellow dog enthusiast & wanderer near where I am.

I am just over the boarder from you into Nottinghamshire, I am often wandering the area with my dogs but I am more of a nocturnal soul. Like Sapper I have a GSD & a collie as my regular walking companions, I also have my old rescue dog who comes out with me once or twice a week, but at 16 years old thats as much as she can manage.

I want to go to Sherwood forest and see if there a ghost present of Robin Hood:) Hows your GSD with others? I think that Sherwood forest is coming up soon on my agenda! I love exploring. I will get my explorers hat out i think:)

Ghosts I hear you say. I'm a paranormal investigator. If you want ghostly goings on, check Whitwell wood in Derbyshire. The woods haven't changed for nearly two centuries. Although there is no mention of it on the web, there is a ghost of a woodsman that wonders at night, and most nights you can hear the choir singing in the chapel, even though it's empty.

My GSD is similar to Maia by the sounds of her. She loves other dogs but prefers to stand back from people and deal with them on her terms. My collie can be a bit sharp with dominant/pushy dogs, but he is fine with people. If you are over this neck of the wood (North Notts including Sherwood) please feel free to give me a shout.

Im also a big scaredy cat because i can see things and feel things that others seem not to! LOL LOL
Amazing powers and a wuss LMAO
I would love to talk more, its very interesting... I dont go looking for them tho! I wouldnt mind feeling the ancient energies of Sherwood forest and i can slip back in time and see things...i move lost souls on, there are many wandering around here right next to us...people die in trauma are often earthbound, lack of old ways and skills, mean they dont get moved on as they used to as not enough people practise the old ways..im glad i have the ability and try my best to help if im called to

Maia needs to learn manners and respect. Its good for her to be told off:) Sounds like a walk is on the cards? Let me know when you have time. Im looking on the map now how far the forest is:)

I live not so far from the alleged UFO capital of the UK...or it was.

The Longendale Valley. Apparently ghosts and spirits have been seen there too

Hi Tess and a big welcome to the gang...

...Well your newbie intro certainly got some attention :-)

I guess I'd have to say that I'm unfamiliar with your way of life, with Vision Quests, Shaman, healing etc.... I come from a more conventionally logical, process driven world so guess I'd be classed as 'skeptical' but that said, I do have a love of the countryside, country crafts, bushcraft, foraging and wildlife and often enjoy/prefer my own company and I have been known to retreat to the hills or woods on occasions when I needed to think things through so maybe I'm not a completely lost cause :-)

I'll follow your future posts with interest...

Hi Paul
Each persons reality is unique to them and i have total respect for people who dont see things my way, when we have the amazing outdoors and Nature in common, dosent matter where we come from. Thank you very much for the welcome, i have met some incredible people here and my life is changing again. I have peace and contentment outside. When the heart is happy, nothing else really matters. Have a wonderful day!

Im having a google and seeing where that is! How far is that from Sleaford? Lincolnshire, i made a terrible mistake of looking for a forest that didnt exsist ( I didnt know it said forest so i presumed there was one! LOL LOL ) so i rather ask now before i go anywhere;) Have you seen any?

The fascinating thing about a vision quest (a real one) is that it borders on Lucid Dreaming, its a view into your subconcious... can see all sorts of weird things in there!

Naturalmagik
02-06-2011, 09:50 AM
I lucid dream everynight, i was trying to pull very long hairs from my pointed ears two nights ago and i can remember looking in horror, thinking where are the tweezers? theyre very unattractive:) LOL I have been checking my ears since and i think thats taking shapeshifting a little far:) Where have you done your Quest? I think also its chance to resolve much within, as when on your own and in a deep place, you are safe having a look and working stuff out. Also true direction can surface as theirs no distractions to block it. Our responsibility is to self for our path and doing real work again upto us how we do it and how well we do it. And whether we learn and grow, sometimes people choose not to see the signs or learn the lessons, we are all different in our progress and abilities. Tess
