Hi All,

On Saturday went to Forgewood Campsite on the Kent/East Sussex borders. Went with the old man and we both Cycled there from Essex.
An 8 mile ride to Tilbury meant we could catch the Ferry to Gravesend, from there a 27 mile journey to the Campsite. Hard going, ideally I would of liked Panniers like my Dad but settled with a rucksack which isnt ideal on a bike. Fair few hills on the journey and they got the better of us in the last 4 miles, which meant due to cramp had to push the bikes uphill!

Left at 12 and got there at 5pm so plenty of time to set up camp, family came over to laugh at our pains then buggered off and left us to enjoy our evening.

Decided not to cycle back as the aches and pains were still there in the morning, so the cavalry came back to pick us up.

All the gear worked out well, me in my DD Travel Hammock and my Dad in his Vango Tempest 200 (I think), neither of us were cold.

All in all a good weekend though.

Pleased all my gear went in my 35 litre rucksack and there was a fair bit of space in the panniers as well.

Only a few pics I'm afraid.

Cheers

I've been to Forgewood, a lovely place, just wish there weren't so many jets flying overhead!

Didnt really notice the jets in the evening (or dont they fly after x pm?), however early morning it was a fairly unwelcome wake up call!

I dint notice that many either :D

That was probably due to the amount of cider we consumed. ;)
