Basically this thread is the same as the long running one Martin set up but it's about things you have yet to acquire. :)
I want to get a big roll of canvas, so that I can make a teepee. :D

Regarding big canvas tarps, my girlfriend bought a massive cotton drop cloth last winter when she painted her living room. Was surprised they still made them, so got me to thinking I might buy one as well and sort out how to waterproof it. I forget how big it is, maybe 12'x15', but was about $35.

I haven't bought a Gransfors axe.
I do want to, but I can't justify the £50+ cost when I have an extremely good boot-fair special I got for the princely sum of £2.50.
I just love the look of the Gransfors axe, to be honest.
I also really want one of those Bison Bushcraft shirts. But I don't really need it so much as want it, and I've never spent £90 on an item of clothing in my life.

A primitive trekking enthusiast in the U.S named Mark. A Baker detailed in one of his books how to waterproof cloth, IIRC it involves a mixture of pigment and linseed oil. If you like I'll dig through my books and find it. As a matter of interest Baker tutored Daniel Day Lewis in primitive firearms for The Last of the Mohicans (taught him how to load a flintlock rifle on the run) and Mel Gibson in The Patriot (the line "aim small miss small" was his). He wasn't responsible for the anti-Brit bias in The Patriot, BTW(:

Have yet to purchase a small diamond lap plate to glue to the outside of my PSK for quick sharpens on the go..... I seemed to put my last one in my neck knife kit and don't want to move it from its home for fear I might not put it back!

I bought a very large canvas tarp that was about twenty years old, and that had been soaked in a mixture of linseed oil and wax, i cut it in two and now have both of them about 3 metres square, and they are waterproof.

its strange that a lot of really expensive knives are so ugly, its like the designer has been on crystal meths or summit.

I haven't bought the clas ohlsen spirit stove mentioned elsewhere on the forum, not because I didn't want it - you just can't buy it online in the uk til January 2012, the website shows a shopping basket next to the product but thats so you can print your shopping list and go to the "nearest" store, ermmmmmmmmmmm Cardiff, makes a ten quid bargain a bit expensive. Humph

It's all a little pointless talking about it as it won't be sold to the general public, so may as well make one from an uprated precharged air rifle. I'm sure you sould knock up a tough enough grapple, together with some steel rope. :)

It may eventually get sold to the public....or we hope it can lol. Still i want one!!!!

Had a look at this one. Found it comes with a bundle of other bits including a shower. Now thats a bit of kit I might be interested in whilst away for a few days. Got to beat a wash in a cold stream anyday.

Well I suppose if you had a grappling hook and a glass cutter you could "liberate" everything you could need from your local camping shop/surplus store. ;)

And seeing as Alcatraz has been closed down for some time, a graphic novel would be out of the question.
