Here's a truly weird collection of items that I'll bet most people would never think of.
A pack-away kettle? Folding coffee maker? They're all here - enjoy (http://wackypracticals.com/AboutWackyPracticals) :)

Hi Happybonzo !
Nothing wierd about a folding coffee filter holder , I use the ORTLIEB Kaffeefilter-Halter http://www.ortlieb.com/_pdf_en/coffeefilterholder.pdf
Folds flat as a handful of filter papers , fits in a pocket easily and makes great coffee !!!

Makes a nice strong brew and easy to clean , all the grouts stay in the filter which can be bagged for disposal and the holder can be simply rinsed or wiped clean.
Not as pretty as your silicone one though hey !?!?!

Not all collapsible/folding gear is ridiculous. I am quite fond of my Lifeventure Collapsible Fabric Bowl; http://www.lifeventure.co.uk/htm/cookware/collapsible-bowl.html

Though not really aimed at our kind of outdoor activities, I actually find a lot of the items from Wacky Practicals quite interesting. They look like they are actually functual. If the collapsible funnel was half the size and weight, I would seriously consider getting one to pack with my white gas and multi-fuel stoves.

You could always use it with dehydrated water to make a nice cup of hot water to enjoy. ;)

At one beer-addled camp, a couple of us tried to design a collapsible metal cooking pot. Unfortunately, none of us are designers!!

Hi Mr. JEEP,

Is the collapsible bowl quite useful - it's just that I saw one in Lidl or Aldi today and thought "interesting but not sure how useful you'll be". Can't remember the price but it wasn't all that out of order.

A few items to boggle the mind. :)

Easi Twist Jar Opener:
Does anyone actually carry any jars out when bushcrafting? That said, I once demonstrated how to use a large pickle jar as a kettle - but care has to be used to prevent it from shattering after removal from the fire. (No cold shocks)

At home, I use an elastic band on tight lids. Works every time for me, except ONCE on a never opened near antique jam jar...

I wish they made lightweight collapsible hiking boots, then I wouldn't have to wear them to travel on aircraft...:)

I also take my heavy hunting boots as carry on hand luggage, but they do come in handy for placing the "bottles of duty free".!
