I may come across as thicker than the child of a TV weathergirl and the village idiot for asking this, but...what exactly is a scandi grind?

Look up 'Saber Grind', is the same thing. It's an edge that's made by a single bevel without any noticable secondary bevel.

think two chisels back to back, parallel sides that taper to a point from a set distance basically, its a good serviceable blade edge that suits cutting wood and flesh.

Almost like two chisels, back to back, but chisels have a secondary bevel (this aids in curling the waste, up and out of the way). Although most DIY chisels bought need this second bevel putting on them by the purchaser, so I guess it would be like, two unfinished/non-sharpened chisels. :)

I'm picky aren't I? lol

M'lud, my learn-ed friend Mister Maltrevers appears for the defense, and I appear for the money.
The prosecution will endeavour to prove that the snivelling, depraved, cowardly wretch whom you see cowering before you, returned home on the evening of the fourteenth of July in a particularly vicious and unpleasant frame of mind, had words with his wife and then deliberately posted pictures from the British Blades website after assaulting his pet ostrich by throwing a watering can at it...

Carry on, Martin.
