I just wanted to show you my latest finished projects.
i made myself a new sheath out of 4mm veg tanned leather to replace the one that comes with the eggen, because it was too soft imo. so this one also has a nice strong middle layer of leather to protect the stitching instead of having that plastic inlay.
and then i´ve carved a small kuksa out of a piece of apple wood from a recently collapsed apple tree in our garden. nothing special but i like it. i stained it with coffee and finally gave it a touch with camelia oil.
so here´s some pictures:

actually i wanted to make some more detailed pics of the sheath but my battery died. hope you like it.

Beautiful mate, I like the sheath & it's detail. Kuksa has a nice grain too! :) I've got to get round to making a Kuksa one of these days!

Good work & thanks for sharing.

Nice work on the kuksa & sheath.

I had the same concerns about the Eggen sheath, so I hot waxed mine following these instructions :-

Very nice work. I've got to get started on a kuksa soon. Just trying to find that right piece of wood.

Used that tutorial too and it worked great!
I dabbed only one coat of wax and the sheath became just as stiff as I needed. But it seems it could be really hard with more coating.

Great job actually gabrielo! Love both of your items
