I think you'll find you get plenty of recommendations for the Frost's Mora. Very cheap, very good quality and will do everything you want it to do. :)

Seconded for the Mora, cheap as chips but very good knife
Mora Bushcraft Triflex. A bit more expensive than the regular Mora Clipper/Training Knife - bit well worth the extra money imho.

Mora! Got two now as I found my first one after having lost it for a few months and bought a replacement after losing hope of ever seeing it again. Was a great feeling finding it, like losing a good friend it was.

loveing the look of the Mora Bushcraft Survival
looks like a cool knife
The Mora Bushcraft Survival knife is a stainless steel knife. Stainless is not the best choice for batoning, as it is more brittle and thus more prone to break than carbon steel.

I'll throw another one out there. My wee nephew has a Hultafors GK. Real sturdy knife if you're into whacking it with a stick.

If you're looking for a tool that's going to be predominantly used for batoning then an axe is the logical choice.

Or a leuku...
I have one of these. They are solid.
