All mine I go from the second hand store, the weight is comforting at night and they do hold the heat in, love them!!!!

I would add to this that for the price of a standard sleeping bag, you can get about 4 blankets. So I guess the price per degree makes blankets more valuable... However, you will have to add 20 pounds to your pack but... ;)
