ahar... my uncle was after this knife recently, I was visiting Brittany and he sent me off with instructions to track this knife down as he struggled to find it in the UK, when we were away my cousin beat me to it and got him one.

So this is the gardeners version of the Opinel No.8 I like the look of it, I've not used it for any duration, although I have owned and used the normal No.8 for years. You prefer this one over the normal No.8 then fish? I'd be interested to know why you prefer this one; mainly aesthetics or you think the style of blade or handle is better?

i just love everything about it ,this will be my third one in 40 years,i broke one levering a window and the other got nicked! the stainless steel has enough carbon steel in it to be a damn good blade the drop point i like for gutting game,the normal no8 often in use(by me any way) will pierce the bowl or gut which is not good.the handle shape too is way more comfy over long use as well as short jobs,all in all i would say its a better knife than the normal no8,buy one and see for yourself ,ive owned many many knives and this is the best folder i have ever owned the second would be a SAK.
