Water tight containers

Just had my granddaughter over and she had a kinder egg. I know you think what is he on about.
Well went to clear the rubbish away and the little yellow egg container and then it hit me, so I closed it up and ran it under the tap at quite a force, stopped open it up and a very small amount of water. Hence if it was in normal conditions I don't think it would leak at all.
I thought it could be used for caring some cotton wool tinder, short matches, or I also thought maybe some pain killers.
Or I could be completely out of it.:confused::welcome:

That's a good idea, and it's always nice to find a use for things that would otherwise just find their way to the landfill. Now to find someone who eats kinder eggs...

if its for emergancy use you could tape over the seam

im 30 and i enjoy eating and making the kinder toys inside still lol:), i used to use them to carry tin foil and fuses,when i had my kawasaki kmx,anybody thats ever had one will tell you the wire that runs to back light chafs, and it repeatedly blows the little glass fuses usually in the most awkward of places and in the middle of nowwhere,so a few kinder egg cases filled with tin foil and fuses just kept taped under the seat always came in handy :)

Also, I've seen (and use) the miniature red bull shot's containers used for carrying measured amounts of meths for meths stoves. However I also use it for storing cotton wool for tinder. A very useful and small waterproof container! There clear aswell so if carrying multiple containers can quickly identify which ones you need.

Next idea is to make a small hobo fishing line with one.
Good thing is they come prepacked with some dessicant to keep the contents dry.
The yellow ones are better than then "warming" ones as they have a flat bottom inside while the warming ones have extra dessicant and the bottom is thinner

i keep saltn pepper sachet in my kinder egg and cotton wool in another with taped seems!!!

That's a good idea, I carry same pain killers in Strepsil Tubes. :)
