I went shrimping at Bray Dunes, France last week. Got loads of shrimps, boiled 'em up - mmm lovely.... until the next day :) then I even out-performed Digger when he ate a very dead rotting Starfish :)

That's a shame you had a bad experience. But I went this morning and to a new venue recommended:ashamed: however it did not turn out so good, did get a good meal for one out of it even though they were prawns!
So I will go again later in the week as I have some free time, but will stick to my normal venue.
Time to make my lovely prawn sandwich:o

I do lots of shrimping.
Down to Greatstone beach...a few minutes often yields enough for lunch!

Might have to try that, usually go to sandwich bay area, hythe etc.
Might see you down there one day.

If you do try Greatstone (and you should - I always get loads. Good for cockles as well) then try the stretch of beach just after you turn right when coming out of Littlestone. I think there's a mini-mart there. Near the Lifeboat place.
You don't get too many people along that stretch so there's more shrimps. If you go further along then you get to the area where you get lots of families and all that activity make the shrimp scarce.

We often do a seashore forage day - Greatstone for shrimp and cockles (you can get sea buckthorn there as well), then along to the Warren Cliffs (Folksetone) for mussels and limpets.

Stir fry it all together, with a little seaweed, rice and chorizo and it makes a passable paella/jumbalaya type thingy.

That is some useful info there humakt will definitely give that one ago.
And the recipe idea sounds good, I do like my food.
Hope the weather turns a little by the end of the week, bit bright for pushing the net.
