I know it's a little early but has anyone got anything bushcrafty they want for Christmas? - I'm not buying it for you though. :)

Hennessy Hammock. Looked at the Warbonnet Blackbird but can't find a UK supplier.

I've got a list as long as my arm! 4months off work what's a man to do other than research his outdoors kit!

But the Vango Banshee 300 is my top priority "light & roomy!"

Actually, quite fancy a pair of Rab Photon trousers for those chilly nights under canvas but not sure I can really justify the cost. :(

Try before you buy! I have the 200 and it can be fustrating not being able to sit up in it properly and the lack of a proper porch can make cooking a problem in poor weather.

I know what your saying, I had a poke around a 200 this summer when on a trip out, thats why I want the 300 for the extra room. I am a short arse too so sitting wasn't too much of a problem & generally if I'm in my tent I'm laid out any how.
The cooking issue is a heads up I'd thought that considered pitching would solve most issues. I can always be risk-ay & cook inside, I tend to use a Trangia when out & about so with some ventilation should be fine as long as I'm careful. Thanks for the advice!

You have to wait till Saturday night, every time I go to my local high street it looks like that, very scary.

Totally agree with jus_young ! I also have the Banshee 200 and find the lack of headroom , porch and poor venting ( unless its windy and you can set up to maximise the through venting ) more than frustrating !!!
I have been looking at the Atlas200 and Halo200 , 3.5 Kg so 0.9Kg heavier than your Banshee300 but 125/120 cm of glorious headroom and two entry points both with proper porches both top opening for extra venting ... Hmmmm Xmas ? or perhaps that lightweight Exped synmat ?

If weight is really no issue, why not check out the Vango Teepee 500. I've got one and, when it's set up, it's like a palace. Loads of ventilation, more room than you'll ever need and only costs around £50. It's a great tent.

Thanks Martin , Vango Teepee looks very pretty in its multi colour festival guise ! think pack size and weight against it though your Teepee recomendation led me to re-examine Go-lite Shangri-la ... looks the biz !
How many pay days before Xmas ?!?!

I'd like an axe, but I also need a reason to use it! Those Gransfor ones, either the small forest axe (dunno what I'd do with it though, a bit over the top for opening a tin of beans) or that little hatchet, the Kubben or whatever. Any idea what I could use it for that I can't do with my knife?
...zombie apocalypses don't count!
