Hi there,

I have been looking for a good design for a dog tin hobo stove. I have searched the site and just seen a few glimpses of them on videos.

Does anyone have a good template or instructions. I have bought a coffee caddy, some brake cable and a large dog food tin and now all I need is a bit of knowledge.

Not sure whether I should make a wood gas stove or just a simple hobo stove first.

Any help or pointers greatly appreciated.

hobo simpler , but use wire coat hanger with a second bend where you will hang it

if you use a wire coat hanger you can hang over fire

Thanks for all the advice and videos.

I have now got one large dog food tin, two cutlery pots and a couple of coffee cadies and best of all a few days next week to make some hobo stoves.

Might even make a few more pop can stoves too!!

i like the legs you added, think im going to do a dog tin hobo stove... big credit to Justin, first time i read dog tin stove, i thought 'but there so small...' oh yeah, jumbo tins... duuh...

so ive sent the misses off to the shop whilst im at work to get a jumbo tin, after the dogs devoured the contents and ill get crackin and you keep you all posted :)

If it works what else do you need, next you can try a wood gas stove, very efficient and almost smokless (good for stealth camping)

My advice would be short and fat, not tall and toppley - I've had some I made topple and it's not pretty - food mixed with wood and ash...lol
