Is it ready to tap sap from maple and birch yet?

Yep no it's spring as the sap rises! you need to tap the tree before the buds start to appear!

Now's the time to think about what to bake up to put the syrup on... :D
Just used up the last of my real Maple syrup this past weekend. At nearly $30 US (or more) per gallon I'm not likely to have any more any time soon.

Hopefully I'll get some sap from birch and field maple, sycamore can also be tapped. So I might try that.
