At last I have cracked the dilemma of how to apply a suitably shaped flame to a canteen cup, from a home made "junk burner". 1.5mm holes DRILLED on two opposite sides, and small holes PRICKED and turned upwards on the remaining sides. Hey presto...oval flame spread!
