This Competition is now closed for entries.
News on how you can vote for your favourite photos will be posted here soon.

As suggested by Bushwhacker (http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/member.php?3449-Bushwhacker) in the 'Your Best Picture (http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?1957-Your-best-picture.)' thread, we are running a Natural-Bushcraft 2012 Calendar Competition where you can submit your favourite Bushcraft photo (it could be anything nature/wildlife/landscape/outdoor related) and after the submission period we will close entries and then have a poll for the people in this community to decide which are their favourite 12, the winning photos will then be featured on the calendar which will be put into production and sold to members on here. The production of the final calendar will be organised by my wife and I, we will use an online printing service and will post the predicted prices of the calendar and postage here soon. This whole project will be done in a non-profit manner.

Prize: Kindly donated by JEEP/Jakob (http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/member.php?2109-JEEP) - A brand new FireKnife (http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?2226-Swedish-FireKnife-Mora-teaming-up-w.-LMF!) from Mora/LMF (colour chosen by the winner) and a paracord bracelet made to measure, by JEEP. This prize will be given to the photo with the most votes.

----------------------------------------------------
Read These Rules Before Entering!

Do not post your photos on this thread.

* Email your one favourite photo to [Removed as now closed for entries] In the email you should include the following: Put your NBC Username in the Subject line. Make sure the image is high resolution. Optionally; put a month in the body of the email that you think your photo would best suit on the calendar (so ie. a autumnal shot of changing leaf colours might be Sept/Oct).

This Photo Competition is open to everyone around the world.

Submitting a photo this does not automatically put your name down to purchase a calendar (so you can take part and don't have to comit to purchasing a calendar).

Closing Date for Submissions is Saturday 19th November 2011 at 11am.
* By emailing your photo to the address above you are giving permission for your photo to be used on this public, non-profit, calendar project. All photos submitted must be your own or written authorisation must be provided by the person allowing use of their image.
----------------------------------------------------

When I receive submissions, I will post them onto this thread along with the username that was submitted with the photo. Do not post photos yourself onto this thread - if you do they will be deleted. If you have any problems emailing in a photo please PM me on here.

We will try to get all submissions, voting and production done before Christmas (hopefully!) but it may be around Dec/Jan time until you receive a calendar.

Please do not post asking to be put on a list to buy one of the calenders yet (we will organise that later on).

Right folks,

If you would like a Natural-Bushcraft Calendar for 2012, this is where you put your name down to order one.

The calendar will contain the 12 most voted for photos (as shown in the previous post).

How Much Does it Cost? - £14 (Price changed from £15 > £14 see this post here for details (http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?2184-NaturalBushcraft-2012-Calendar-Photo-Competition&p=31555&viewfull=1#post31555))

This is being done in a non-profit fashion so here's the deal... we're ordering through a company who we've got experience with and trust: photobox.co.uk (http://www.photobox.co.uk/)

A custom A4 Wall Calendar normally costs £16.99 from Photobox.
I've got a deal with Photobox to knock 20% off our order (providing it's over £25 and is ordered before the 14th Dec)
This would mean the discounted calendar price would be £13.60
Add £1.40 for me to package & post it to you = £15

Remember we need to order before the 14th Dec in order to get a 20% discount and the £15 price - I will set a cut-off date for people putting their names down for one, that date is: 12th Dec 2011. Anyone who asks for a calendar after this date may have to pay a higher price of around £18.40

If you would like to order a Natural-Bushcraft Community Calendar for 2012 please post below and state how many you would like.

I'll have one please Ashley. Drop me an email with your PayPal details and I'll do the honours.
Ah crap! That's something I didn't think about - accepting/transferring the money - I want to do it via Paypal but don't they take their own percentage cut just for transacting the money? Or can you do a person to person transfer as a 'gift' without them taking a percentage cut?

franko
04-12-2011, 03:04 PM
One for me please mate!

Ken
04-12-2011, 03:06 PM
I can try sending it as a gift, but PayPal might smell a rat if you receive lots of £15 gifts. I can arrange a bank transfer? That might be your best option?

Ken

Ashley Cawley
04-12-2011, 03:10 PM
Looking @ PayPal's Fees page (https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-fees) I think there is a way we can transact for free, but you'll have to be careful in selecting the right option. Don't worry I'll write clear instructions and PM it to everyone who at the end have said they'd like to order one. If we don't do it right PayPal will take 20p plus 3.4% of the transfer amount! :( That'd be what, me short 71p per every calendar ordered, so we'll have to watch for that one lol.

Right folks,

As you know in order to get this 20% discount from Photobox I need to place the order for the 13th, this could be a £250-£300+ order so I will have to start taking in cash now so I don't have to upfront all this money myself this December.

So there's 3 ways to pay:

Direct Debit - Preferred method, instant & free. Do this Online or at your bank - PM me asking for my account details.
PayPal - PM me asking for payment instructions for PayPal. Annoyingly it looks like there's no way to get round PayPal's fee's they want to charge 71p for the transaction.
Cheque - If you'd like to send me a cheque PM me to ask for my postal address.

Ashley Cawley
07-12-2011, 08:12 AM
Direct-debit / bank to bank transfer is the preferred method, if you are able to do this please use this method because the other two (PayPal & Cheque) will both take 4-6 days to get into my account (and probably won't be in my account in time for me to place the Photobox order).

Ashley Cawley
07-12-2011, 07:08 PM
Bad news & then good news! :) ... There's a postage fee of £9.99 we'll have to split, but due to us placing a large order they've given us a further discount which counteracts the postage fee and actually takes a pound off everyones order, so it's now £14 each :)

Ben Casey
07-12-2011, 07:13 PM

Ashley, when are you planning to send them ?They haven't arrived with me yet Matt so don't expect them for Christmas.

They are currently in the mail on the way to me, should turn up any day now. I should imagine they will be with everyone at the end of Dec or very early Jan.

are there any updates yet?
LonjaNon as of yet, the Calendars have been ordered, printed and dispatched but seem to be taking ages to get to me. They are in the mail on the way to me but have been held up in the mayhem of the Christmas postal service.

I will let you all know on here as soon as they arrived with me and I'll let you know again when I've posted them so they're on the way to you.

Update: Still haven't arrived yet. Just to let you know I have been in contact with Photobox a couple of times, the calendars should have been with me already but they're not - they assure me they are on their way to me just caught up in the chaotic post over Christmas. They've told me to wait till the 4th Jan to see if they show up if not I'm to contact them again.

As soon as they arrive with me I'll be sending them out to you all first class.

You could charge an admin fee per entry. ;)I actually don't like money (hence why I'm not a millionaire ;)) so I think the Admin Fee would have to be in a the new-age currency suggested to me by my life-guru (Ryan) .... Freddo's.
