Working with paracord is good fun and very rewarding imho.

From those splendid examples perhaps we need a section on "Knots and how to tie them" - nice work :)
Thanks :)
The truth is, though, that even though I am a scout leader, I really suck at tying knots (most of my scouts know more knots than I do). The cobra knot is one of the few I know really :ashamed:

Same here with the knots. I have to practice them the night before I teach the scouts :D Its just not something I remember as I don't use them often enough.
I did this piece for Scouting magazine's Cub supplement http://www.scouts.org.uk/wp_magazines/supplements/cubs/join-the-bushcraft-network and have written an article on making paracord bits and pieces for a forthcoming issue.

Nice lanyards. I live, sleep, dream knots. If I can help let me know. Here are some knife lanyards I just completed:
Some knife lanyards with color combos for matching choppers. Photo is close up of blackstrap part for thumb thong retention

Simple lanyard for my new LMF FireSteel Army w. oak handle - aswell as a simple paracord wrap for the striker. Not the prettiest wrap, but it makes the striker highly gripable.

oh I would love to learn how to do that stuff
Working with the cobra knot is simple - and requires very little training.
I remember the knot from my school days, it was taught to us, among other knots, in handiwork class. Unfortunally it is the only one I remember :)

If you do a search on knots in google you will find loads of tutorials about tying different knots thats where I learnt the one I use :)

I'm eager looking for the tutorial thread which will include videos ;)
Ok, now I can do the cobra knot with my eyes closed. Time to move on to some more challenging knots. Any suggestions?

Mora Bushcraft Triflex w. Ray Mears army sized firesteel - my "cheap and tough" set for rough work. I usually carry it when working in the forest with my dad.

Don't know if anyone else is rockin' the android phone, but I downloaded a pretty decent free app with a varied selection of knots a while ago.

Checked it out again, it's called Knots Guide, by SusaSoftX. Don't know if there's an iOs equivalent though.
