- and you thought that was expensive? then try this LINKY (http://www.heinnie.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=0&P_ID=6802&strPageHistory=search&numSearchStartRecord=1)
For this sort of money, I'd expect it come with RM and Bacon Grylls to do all the hard work for me :)

That's because they are made of titanium, which is the best material known to poshcraft kind, for everything (except toilet paper :))

If your looking for a more affordable Firepiston I can recommend http://www.bushcrafttools.com/ they might not look as pretty but they work!
I've no connection with the site, but if you do order let him know you heard about them through Natural-Bushcraft ;)
Thanks Ash, it looks like a good place to start.
Though this is quite tempting; http://rosemtnfirepistons.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13&products_id=29 Expensive though

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Portable-Extra-large-Head-Windproof-Waterproof-Matches-/180727590033?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Dogs&hash=item2a14342c91...just buy a fivers worth should last a while.
Keep an eye on this seller http://myworld.ebay.com/ebprimitives-usa/ I think I've got the right name but I'm sure he was just E B Primitives (without the USA bit on the end). I *think* his name is Emil but has nothing iup at the moment but he sends a real value packs out double quick.

Never even heard of one of these before, what a fantastic idea. There are some clever people out there who should get recognition for these ideas.

I got one from bushcrafttools.com when they were at the bushcraft show in the lakes last year. Very well made and really good price and easy to use - my four year old son can get it to work every time just about!!;)
The guy that makes the stuff is also very helpfull!
No connection to the seller except to say i'm just a satisfied customer.

The kits from Bushcrafttools.com looks nice - and the prices seem reasonable. They are certainly not the prettiest fire pistons out there, but they look tough as nails - and I can always buy a nicer one, if I become fond of using it.
Thank you all so far - keep it coming :)

Hey Fatsnacka!
I'm pretty sure that ebay seller is the guy who owns bushcrafttools.com - Dustin James!

Out of a collection of 17 (some homemade and some bought as design examples) this is by the pistonmeister and is top end of what's available. It's not his most expensive model but I think its one of his most attractive

OK, OK don't laugh at me - this one comes in at a cool £38 with a bag of spares (and some free charcloth, wowee) AND you'll have to pay import duties as well (another £6) Bargain to a collector and will last a lifetime.
HI
My name is Jack, I'm 49 years old - my ex has disowned me - and I collect fire pistons.
