It does indeed :)

I love roasted chestnuts - and the ham doesn't look half bad either.

I don't eat pork, bacon or ham and although my father would drop everything for a roast chestnut I really don't like them at all. Oddly I like most nuts and would live on them if I could, just not sweet chestnuts. The next video on bannock and trout nearly made me drown in my own saliva, the guy does some lovely videos.

this particular ham is actually from south tyrol (german speaking part of italy in the alps) that I brought back from an outdoor trip. absolutely fantastic taste...

Though to be honest haven't made coffee out in the woods or been camping in years though that gonna change this summer. I'm gonna do good old perked coffee though that's my fav method but for simplicity and light weight this little gadget is awesome makes a wicked smooth cuppa joe

hmm, good old filter coffee, good stuff. If I have the space in the backpack I bring a traditional italian espresso "machine" and put it in the fire...

this one is my absolute favourite http://www.bialetti.com/coffee/moka/ (if backpack space allows...)

the most fancy device i've seen so far is this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwQK7iD6by0
never tried it though... anyone tried it?

To me the good old cheapie filter like I posted that still has to be one of the best things I ever tried. A friend of mine from Germany she got it for me a few years ago she has a bigger version of it but they are great little gadgets

Otherwise I too use a coffee perk but use Lidls coffee pods .... Like round tea bags but Full of coffee available in three different flavours ...
I like the Brazilian and Columbian blends but they are so ezy to use no messy grounds to deal with wet or dry as all safely contained in the bag !!!

Hmmmmmm coffee !!!!

Cheers Whistle

That folding kettle is brilliant. Pack weight not to much of a concern for me when I go my Panasonic bike she's gonna be my pack mule :D probably take a bit heavier gear than most such as toting a small cast iron pan

That took me back more years than i care to remember. Back in the 60,s we used to sit on a saturday afternoon in front of a nice log fire with my parents and watch Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks or Mick McMunus on world of sport. We had a shortened grave diggers shovel which could hold loads of chessnuts at a time. I cant do that with my kids coz we havent had an open fire in the house for years, not all progress is good. I've just bought our first wood burner with a lift-up lid revealing a cooking plate, ideal for chestnuts and the like, still it'll be a few months before I can afford to get stuff converted & fitted.
