Now what I should do is relate a story of how I trekked miles to a remote Highland loch and waited for days for the otter to show.
Actually what I did was wander over from the co-op car park to the river and he swam on up.

There are about 9 of them in our local river and they perform regularly.... even been on the one show.
So as much as I would like to say its a rare event.. in fact is its nearly a daily one.... saying that it doesn't take away from the magic.
I did miss a brilliant pic though..... there was a cat stalking something on the bank so I watched it... turns out it was an otter who half climbed the bank both he and the cat sniffed each other then they both went their separate ways. Definitely a missed "decisive moment"

Although Otters have increased, they're still far from easy to see.....let alone snap.
