Buxton kip in the car

Hi all,

I'm off to a reunion Saturday in Buxton, I am drinking & can't afford accommodation as well :ashamed:!

I used to live in Buxton for a couple of years at college on Harpur Hill 20 or so years ago. I know I could sleep in my car at Erwood Reservoir, but getting a Taxi back there may well freak the driver out :evilgrin::zombie-fighting:!

Is Lightwood reservoir, Dukes drive or Green Lane any good?

Any one know any quiet spots on the outskirts that I could park leave the car & then go back to sleep it off :please:?

Be careful Reaps. If you sleep in your car and you're drunk, you are in charge of the vehicle and commit the offence. As I understand it, the only way you could get away with this is if you didn't have the keys and you slept in the back but I'm really not too sure about this. The safest way would be to try to find somewhere to camp overnight.

Yep very aware cheers mate!

I have a double airbed that fills the boot & keys will go in my hidey safe in the front, so if I get a visit all should be above board!

I'm drinking but not planning on a bender & I'm probably gonna be too lazy to set up a wild camp!

That's why I'm looking for somewhere quiet too!

I do but not well enough to advise you about sleeping there. Last time i was at Errwood we were searching for someone and it was as busy as Holmfirth on a saturday in july !!
