I've tried making a kuksa before, quite a while ago, before I had a hook knife and a few spoons under the belt, and lets just say I never finished that project and leave it at that!!
This weekend I stumbled across a nice fallen birch tree and thought I'd give it a go again - Better prepared this time.
The wood was a little old and so some parts were softer than others, rather than trying to force a shape on it, I kinda let the wood guide me a little. The result is by no means perfect, but a little more 'organic' in its appearance. Thought I'd share it with you.
Also made a dish out of a piece I had sat in the log pile. The spoon came from a piece of willow the dog fetched!
