After watching Alone in the wilderness again for the umpteenth time, I was doing a little research on backwoods cabin construction, stumbled across this most excellent free book -

Kind of reminds me of the BS Mason and Nessmuk style Woodcraft/camping books.

lovely find good reading, loved the rations bit, only weighed up to 89 pounds. that's lightweight camping at its best ;)

This is brilliant, very interesting and I like the way he describes the sharpening profile of a felling axe which I've never heard of before.
