Another classic! I was amazed not to see it listed, but maybe I wasn't looking good enough (if so, sorry)

Woodcraft and Camping (http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/34607)

Last year I bought another book with writings of George Washington Sears:
"Canoeing the Adirondacks with Nessmuk: The Adirondack Letters of George Washington Sears" (http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?sts=t&tn=the+adirondack+letters&x=80&y=10) A classic if you like canoeing. And if you do like canoeing I would recommend The Adirondacks in New York, lovely, just avoid Black fly season ;-)

I read woodcraft and camping many years ago with lots of high hopes and expectations. I'm sad to say that I found it to be somewhat of a disappointment, especially when one looks at the "real" Nessmuk vs George W Sears.

But still a book to read just for the experience.
