Alone in the wilderness - Joseph Knowles:

A man takes off his clothes and goes naked into the woods for two months (or was it three?). To make matters worse, he wasn't given permission to hunt for game (everybody remembers Ed Wardle (http://www.channel4.com/programmes/alone-in-the-wild/articles/page-2") now when he sees a moose 50 meters away while having a gun but being out of the hunting season)
He describes how he lives off the land and manages to catch a deer (which was wounded) and even trap a bear (so he risks prosecution for killing an animal without a permit).

Really good reading and almost too good to be true. So it turns out that its not true (http://mwhomestead.blogspot.com/2010/01/joe-knowles.html). I guess a bit like he's the Bear Grylls of the '30s of the last century. But still a very good read
