Went wild camping next to loch bradan, galloway forest with a few friends, just general bushcrafting, with a clear night sky to top it off displaying the milky way in all its galore, but in the morning the winds picked up. Decided to make a wind shelter from a large branch intertwined with heather and sealed with moss. Made cooking with the wood burning and hexi stove a delight. Just want to get people's opinions on it.

Great little set up Richard. Did it take long?

It took roughly twenty minutes, probably would of taken alot longer but black clouds in the distance looked tormenting and the morning bacon was a neccesity. One of us was collecting rocks for the base and securing the main branch. I was up on the bank collecting heather and someone was collecting the moss. Good wee setup for cooking, we were lucky enough to find 5 flat and moderately large rocks, so the shelter and the tent made an ideal cooking station against the relentless morning winds.

Excellent bit of impromptu bushcraft there.
Use the local resources to thrive rather than survive. Well done buddy.
