Future spoon and fork carving(summertime project)

Ok so my Mom says she wants a BIG spoon for a friend of hers and yes this is purely for decoration. So went out and cut a piece of maple off a downed limb someone is supposed to come and pick up for firewood. Anyways only the log for now so will have to wait till the spring/summer for this one then again I may start it now soon as the hatchet arrives I will regularly update this thread as well
