Here is the reuslt of a commission that I've just finished. The blade (and overall knfe) is based on the pattern that Rob Evans sent me for his blade.

Hope you all like :) (oh, sorry about the crappy pictures, my good camera ran out of power so I took some phone pics and the close ups are shocking!)

Really really good craftsmanship. But I feel one of those "do we need a parang in Britain?" discussions about to start.

But I love it.

thanks guys :)

as to 'do we need a parang in this country?'. Well to my mind we have the billhook, same tool different shape for the local environment and traditions. I like my billhooks very much but to be honet they are a PITA to make compared to a parang! Also, this was a commission, if I were to make a parang on spec then it would be a stick tang like chopping tools are meant to be ;)

Phil, don't want to make you skint by tempting you with shinies. So I won't tell you that I have some knives at reduced prices on my website right now :D

Looks a lot nicer than my Gollock/Parang that's for certain. Very nice piece of art/engineering.

hello,
I have both a Parachete & a MoD Survival Aircrew Knife in my kit along with a
khukri or khukuri (spelling) as an alternative parang type blade.
I don't carry all at one time but have used such over the years on various
service as well as courses.
Regards
David
