The living and the dead..

Wandering round the wood today I noticed how almost every dead Silver Birch and quite a few Ash have become home to fungi growths, some of which grow to a height on the dead standing trees that I haven't often seen.

The last photo I took a few weeks ago before the gales stripped the last of the leaves off.

Probably those fungi growths that killed the trees..

Good point JP. The photos don't show it ( lousey photographer anyway,me..:D ) But some were very pale pastel shades, green and pink (ish) when the light catches them.
