Well here's a couple more in the works trying to get at least the rough out portion done on some have a bunch of them spoken for as trades LOL
Apple for the top one and the big one is beech

looks good so far chap im gonner have a go at one of these , what would be the best wood to try first

Best wood I know a lot use is birch I just don't have any round here big enough. lemme tell ya though it is hard work doing them to. Pretty much any good food safe wood should be alright for one.

No worries misunderstood lol
there are ways to do it I know some have used hot coals and such others use chisels. Spoon knives are pretty cheap though I got a Mora 164 myself it really does make a big difference having one to

ive just finished working at a house in the sticks met a gardener there and he gave me about 10 bits ive done a couple of spoons its lovely wood to carve i will see if i can get a big lump fo a kushka, are you local to sussex!

bit embarassed really as ive only been doing it for about three weeks you should see the state of my lounge the wife is cool though i just vacum it up lol
