Bloody hell man you ran about with that on? As soon as i put it together and threw it on I thought "who on earth designed this? this is the worst carrying equipment imaginable"

The worst bit was getting it a squared up on the top of my locker for inspections and the bed blocks :) As for running in it I dunno how we ever won a war thats for sure :D

We used card in basics but my stuff still flew out the window on every inspection :( It was great fun in the end I used to just think wheeeeeeeeee as it went out again :D

The sleeping bag was supposed to go between that and the kidney pouches. The poncho roll never got used for that anyway, Noddy suit went in there with poncho on top of Kidney pouches - most tailored their kit anyway, first thing to go was the large pack, swapped for a bergan of some sort. There was some nylon stuff floating about at one time too '72 pattern i think it was

SF/Para bergan was quite good some people still like them, in the early 80's Berghaus came up trumps by making kit in OD the Cyclops i think the first one was

So my nearly new bag for your bergan plus pouches, only damage is that split in the snow collar ? All buckles etc intact ? Never thought to ask is it the Army issue or web tex one ?

Well the web tex one is lighter and smaller as long as its not the 135 litre job and has a longer back than a small backed mil one so Id be happy too

The one I usually get is..."is that a rescue dog ? Can he round up sheep too ?" usually at shows or fetes when the lad is in his working jacket
