I am making this for a girlfriend of mine she has been asking for one of my spoons for a while now. She had no idea I had started this a while ago for her but put it on hold due to at that time I didn't have a detail type knife. My Mora 840 just wasn't working so well but my opi is working pretty good. Least it will get the job done till my custom carver kit comes in got a bit more work to do carving and sanding I am toying on chaging the shape on the end of the handle a bit I like it but don't at the same time. Size wise it's about a deep teaspoon the wood is apple

Coming on nicely well done! And thanks for sharing, I'm sure she'll like it. Are you going to oil it to protect it and bring out the grain somewhat?

Cheers,

Yep I plan to give it a couple coats of mineral oil when all sanded up. Though I know her this one will be more decorative. unfortunately the limitations on my camera don't do the grain or the color justice almost a nice deep blood red color polishes like glass to

Thank you
