I have a big fake fur hat for winter, looks like a bear trapper's hat. I wore it for most of the last 2 snowy winters at work. According to crew room rumour it was pure beaver.ha.

Thanks for sharing your variety of hats Paul when I was flicking through I was really hoping for one with you wearing them all at the same time :p

3818I'm not one for hats really, apart from wooly ones!

LandRoverMatt and his younger brother often where flat-caps, I think they should post up a pic of themselves wearing them in the bush. I borrowed my Dads car once driving to meet some friends in the woods, he had his flat-cap on the dash so I wore it in for a laugh - apparently I looked a lot like Jethro wearing it! :o

I think the cover has been blown :D

Ideally I do like to wear a wide brimmed hat as it keeps the rain off my glasses so that I can still see! The problem is they just don't suit me so may end up with the old baseball cap again.

go on to my profile and look at my avatar, that's my favourite hat, come rain or shine.

Ideal! Do you think they could do a camo one or maybe olive green?

I was really close to buying a green beret, to sew my remaining NaturalBushcraft patch on to. But I resisted.

I have a Russian Rabbit Ushanka (ushanka = hat with ear flaps) It looks absolutely ridiculous but it is very warm to sleep in and also acts as a pillow (not very water proof)

Don't all laugh at once, 54755476

I also have a Rough (201K-Safari. Film memorabilia of the French film..."Safari" lol), which I wear often, as it's soft and comfy :D.
When I'm not wearing that, it's either a flat cap, a bucket hat (see picture), or the unknown brand leather hat (which cost £17 ;)) with my kill feathers on it.

I'm the proud wearer of a Tilley T3 - worth every penny, and doubles as fine foraging basket wherever I go :).

I wear a Filson Packer hat.
Once, I attempted to make my own leather bush hat, but it did not come out as well as I had hoped, so I continue to wear the Filson.

Those Tilley hats sure look nice too though, I may have to pick one up sometime.

The duck cotton ones have a UPF rating of 50+, too ;). After having sun poisoning on my scalp (back when I kept my hair shorter), I don't take any chances.
I'd say go for a medium brim - you get decent coverage from the sun without looking like you're wearing a sombrero in the woods :).
