Ray Mears Kettle

Looking for the name/make of the kettle uncle Ray normally uses the one with the wire folding handles and pouring spout he had two sizes on the wild food dvd I was watching the other night, I've had a look around but can't seem to find the bloody thing.

Any Links greatly appreciated

not sure of the make could be a cheep highlander ali cook set i have and it has a small 2 person kettle in it,

it came with a solid handle by i mod'ed it with break cable hope this helps

cheers Steve, Rich it's neither of those, it's the one that's about 4 inch deep and and out 12 to 14 inch across, I'm usually pretty good at finding things but this seems to elude me lol

I think Tatonka do one too, but it probably costs twice as much.

This is the closest I've found. Believe it's the small one that he uses. 1.5L kettle by Eagle Industries. Never found another source but got one from the above shop. They reply to e-mails in English so asking them for more info should be easy.

It's an eagle coffee kettle, they quite hard to get hold of in the UK, I got mine from Norway, direct from eagle, the man to speak to is Thor, nice bloke, speaks really good English, there set you back about 25-30 with shipping

Seems I was mistaken about the manufacturer's name, it is in fact Eagle Products. After much searching I have found their website. http://eagleproducts.no a translation tool will be required if you don't understand Norwegian. They make 3 of these kettles, 0.7L, 1.5L and 4L.

Good pieces of gear, quite heavy though. You can use them as cooking pots as well.

I contacted Eagle Products and they sent me to a site which ships internationally. Although they don't have all Eagle products on their site, they assure me they can get all of them.

RE Tatonka gear I do like some of their stuff, good quality but yes expensive.

It makes two good sized brews, and has enough left over to swill in the cups. A few features I really like are the fact that you can just nestle it into the fireside, the handles cool down magically quickly and if you have one of those cheap nesting ally pot sets (which I do), it fits inside the middle one, meaning you can swap it for the small one.

I have one of these, mine's an Outwell and was purchased from Taunton Leisure who don't seem to have any now. They have always been as rare as rocking horse do do but do turn up occasionally, Blacks have been known to stock them also but not at the mo. Mine was termed as an Outwell 1.2l stainless steel kettle.
