I just got me one of these http://www.empirecanvasworks.com/boreal.htm and I must say i'm impressed... Got it kinda late in the season to try it out in the real cold but as for now i'm totally in love with it... And the guys that make it are really nice. Highly recommended piece of kit.

Kevin is a great guy to deal with. I was lucky enough to get in touch with him at about the time he had a roll of Ventile. He made the most superb jacket for me from it which I use whenever out in colder, gnarlier conditions. I am thinking of going for a Boreal shirt but, without any truly cold weather on the horizon, I might have to buy it in hope more than expectation.

If you want one my advice is to order it early on because when I made the order it was for a July production batch for later in the year, I got lucky because I needed a size small and he had one on stock XD guess most bushcrafters are bigger lol.

That looks like it will wear in a treat, probably last you a lifetime. What's the size/fit like for the one you ordered, tight or loose.

The fit is loose just because its kinda large so that you can use it with a canvas anorak type shell on top, but it does have a drawstring so that you can cinch it up. Dave cantenbury does a preview here so that you can get an idea on how it looks/fits http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0e5IMvK4Bg&feature=youtube_gdata_player. Btw im 1m71 and I picked a small one and its almosy a perfect fit just a bit big but for real cold weather (layering) thats a plus.
Cheers
