Birth of a spoon

Start of a new apple spoon yep she's a biggie. The Bark river knife is pictured but I have not done any knife work as of yet strictly with my hawk and fulton carver also used a hatchet head as my wedge

That's a 'ansome paddle you've whittled yourself there ;)

No seriously I like the quirkyness of the bends, she's gona be a beast! A good one for stiring the stew-pot/dutch-oven perhaps.

That reminds me I've got a un-finished Apple wood spoon knocking about the office somewhere, it too has some funky bends in it.

Make sure you show us when it's finished :)

I plan to update this thread regularly Ah yes the funky bends that is one of the things I truly love about working apple they aren't so much planned they just kinda flow out on their own.


Hey Ash if you think of it take some pics of your spoon would love to see it. As a buddy dubbed this one on another site this is gonna be the witches brew spoon :D
