There seems to be so much contradictory information on eating crayfish out there. A lot of people say to purge them for an extended period of time. Some people eat them fresh. Anyone has any experience in that department?

The're every were in Saskatchewan. Not sure if you need a bait license to trap them or not.

I've always just eaten them fresh. Boil them for a little while and them take them out peel off the shell and there you go :)

I've done the same - I boil them and season them with salt...well, I add salt to the boiling water. Let them cool a little and enjoy!

Oysters, Mussels and Cockles have caused me lots of interesting "events" over the years but never Crayfish (touch wood)

I've both boiled and "campfire BBQ'ed" them from fresh without purging them in anyway.

And yes you need a licence to catch them here in England too.
