Poundland has stocked up its camping/survival section again..check them out.
I bought a small stuff sack for my Swedish army cooker..some nice cord, and a small tarp for sitting on/ sheltering under .

Bought two of the led lamps. Build quality is not great but they give off a surprisingly good light.
Also got a "waterproof" bag and three large mesh bags. Resisted the urge to buy the tin mug.
The light wand type led torches aren't bad bought a few last year as a warning light for the car only problem with them is they have a hole in the handle where the battery protector tab went in. Ergo not waterproof

If you find Poundland a bit pricey, then The 99p Store also stocks similar stuff. I have recently bought 2x20m of 'paracord', 2 parrafin hurricane lamps, and 4 8 hour green glow sticks for £5.94!

I didn't need a hexi cooker, or do I? I'm back in Bridgwater tomorrow, maybe I should err on the side of caution!

It is unsurprising.

In Penzance you have a Poundland, Mountain Warehouse, Millets and Sports Direct/Field & Trek all on the same street, so it is very easy to walk for one to the other comparing cheapo camping spares/gear.

Last summer they all stocked the same product, a camping lantern.

They priced the lantern as follows:

Poundland £1
Sports Direct £2.99
Mountain Warehouse £5.99
Millets £7.99

It was the same product in all of the stores.

£land tiffin tub/box!!!

Oh the fun doesn't stop there my friends of the Bushcraft(£)land forum (tiffin box subgroup) - oh - no - it - doesn't! :o

Bought a couple of stain steel storage containers for a billy can conversion (£2.97 Tescos; £3 Morrisons). Unfortunately the current design trend for these cheap containers is to have a perspex 'window' in the lid so you can't really keep them on whilst boiling. Wanted to be more efficient in my boiling and discovered that with both containers the tiffin lid either sits nicely over the top or upside down sits in the container (whilst being loose enough to let excess steam out). I present to you - the Tiffin Box gentlemen - a miracle of modern invention!

"Now if I string enough of them together, can I make that tiffin tarp mark 1.................?"

I wonder if the Chinese workforce that slaves away to produce these little Tins of Happiness, is aware of the pure JOY this simple creation is bringing to so many of us?

Thank You Chinese Workforce T^

Thank You Bushcraftland :D
