After that its grinding and heat treat, which i didnt get pictures of because my camera operator had gone to bed :P

Nice.. I really need to make a forge and have a go at bashing metal.. Is that an old leaf spring you used..?
I hope the camera operator didn't have to go to bed with wet hair..

The main component of the axe head is mild steel. The edge steel is welded in between the two halves of the fold, and that bit is leaf spring. I try to recycle when i can, and leaf spring lends itself well to axe edges :) Nah, the camera operator was pretty happy :P
