Saw an ad the other day about this series and though it is more survival than bush craft wanted to know if someone has seen some episodes already

I've already seen all these shows and although very american they are actually not bad..considering Sir Ray of Mears avoids anything bushcrafty like the plague now and Bear grylls is just, well Plastic TV viewing, this is one of the better efforts and definitely worth a watch..anyway, I quite Like Cody..

Agree with that these are more my kind of program. No jumping off water falls or running down sand dunes and no sitting Wittling by the fire, something in-between how to really use skills to survive the elements.

Watched a lot of Dave Canterbury's You Tube stuff from before he went onto Discovery Channel, it's very informative and worth a look if you don't know the guy...

In between the survivalist stuff is some good Bushcraft instruction.

Same as me. Dave is all info, zero fluff.
Is why I got into the Dual Survival show, seen quite a few episodes on youtube and I enjoy them very much, especially the team work and little jokes.
If you like the Dual Survival thing, you'd like Les Stroud, aka SurvivorMan, but what is brilliant about Les is that he does his own camera work, no film crew tagging along.

ahhh... this explains it! - I knew Dave Canterbury was working with the Discovery Channel to produce something, so this is it, I'll have to check it out, thanks for sharing.
I too have seen some of Dave's stuff on YouTube, I've seen him do some (imho) daft stuff but more-so some clever survival skills. I also like watching Les Stroud :)

Here's one that I came across last week, rather addictive, Man Woman Wild, survival show with a former Special Forces and survival expert teaching his inexperienced wife how to survive various incidents for a few days. Here they simulate getting stuck in the Louisiana bayou while sky diving and have to survive til they sort out getting rescued.

Is funny, he leaves his wife to go look around, catches an alligator and talks about how to catch it, while yelling at his wife he hasn't found anything but water so as to not freak her out about alligators being so close by. Had a good laugh at that one!

Cody Lundin from what I hear is an outstanding Primitive skills/survival instructor I have certainly enjoyed his two recent books plus his appearances on Dual Survival.
Like Ray Mears; Cody also spent time studying with Mors Kochanski though it appears that afterwards their ego's have trailed off in different directions.
