I had always had sort of a natural knowledge of staying alive outside (living in the highlands, playing in the forests and munros and not eating the nightshade n'all that)

but this really got me into it. To fight tyranny and to save lives during the haulocaust. Truly remarkable... Its a shame that after all they done they were forced to retreat to the West to escape another moustached maniac!

I just watched all the [Belarus] episodes again as I haven't seen them for a few years. Just brings it home that our 'hobby' (as some people would call it) was often borne out of necessity and this is an excellent example of this.

Watched it on Sky a while back, their plight was tragic and their resolve unwavering - pretty humbling really...

It's about the same time and place as the Belarus episode.
