Hey guys I need some help/tips on sharpening axes, so was just wondering what advice you guys could give me.

If it's really blunt, you may need to file the bit and re-create a narrower profile. After that, it's a stone or diamond sharpener, used in a circular fashion. This helps in making the convex shape that is normally used on an axe to preserve strength at the edge. When you're happy with that, give the edge a number of normal straight sharpening strokes just like you do to your knives to finish.
